Our Student Council is a group of students from across the school (Years 2-8) that represent all of the students at our school. Think of it as the bridge between students and the school staff and Board of Trustees. This group of students are to advocate for your ideas, concerns, and suggestions. Our goal is to make our school a better place for everyone.
By participating in the Student Council, students get a direct say in their school experience. They have the opportunity to:
Be Heard: We provide a platform for their voice to be heard by school leaders. Whether they have an idea for a new club or a suggestion for improving a school system, we're here to listen and help make it happen.
Develop New Skills: Being a part of the council helps students build valuable skills in leadership, public speaking, and teamwork - all of which are essential for their future.
Create Lasting Change: From organising school-wide events to starting new traditions, students will be able to create a positive and lasting impact on their school community.
The benefits of Student Council extend beyond the students themselves. We also work to enrich the entire school community by:
Building a Stronger Community: We promote the hosting of a variety of events that bring students together and create a more inclusive, positive school environment.
Enhancing the School Experience: By providing student feedback and ideas, we help the school staff and Board of Trustees make informed decisions that improve academics, extracurricular activities, and overall school life.

2025 Term 1 Term 2 Term 3 Term 4
At our school, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community, teamwork, and healthy competition. That's why every student is a proud member of one of our four House Groups: Hawks, Deer, Trout, and Hares.
Once a student joins a house, they receive a special ribbon in their house colour to display in their classroom. This is a great way to show their house pride! Our House Groups are a great way for students to connect with others of all ages. Older students act as mentors and role models, helping to create lasting friendships and a positive school community.
Throughout the year, students earn points for their house by taking part in fun activities, like sports, academic challenges, and creative competitions. These activities encourage teamwork, leadership, and school spirit, with students earning points for their house. Twice a term, we celebrate the winning house for their efforts.
Being in a House Group is a fantastic way for students to build confidence, make friends, and feel like a valued part of our school.
Ribbons are displayed on the classroom walls for every student in every classroom! Badges are added to them as we earn them. Our badge system encourages students to be the best they can be, whether that's in sports, learning, the arts, or being a responsible citizen. These badges also provide a great way to showcase your personal growth and develop leadership skills within our school community.
There are four badges you can work towards:
Sports Badge: Show sportsmanship and teamwork on the field or court.
Learning Badge: Demonstrate curiosity, effort, and growth in your learning.
Arts Badge: Express creativity and talent through art, music, or drama.
3Rs Badge: Be a responsible citizen by showing Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.
Ready to earn a badge? Simply pick up a slip from the office (or print one from below) for the badge you're interested in. Once students meet the requirements, bring the slip back to the office. It will be evaluated at a teacher meeting, and if students are successful, they receive their badge in an assembly! If not, they will be given feedback so they can try again.
