Kapa Haka has been done at Awahono school for a number of years. Our kapa haka group  have been able to participate in Te Ahurei o Ngā Kura o Te Tai o Poutini - West Coast Kapa haka Festival. This has seen us travel to Westport, Reefton, Greymouth and Hokitika to participate in this event. We are lucky enough to be able to be supported by tutor, Paula Iraia, who teaches us waiata and plays the guitar.
