At Awahono School – Grey Valley, we value open communication and strong partnerships with our families and wider community. We welcome your questions, feedback, ideas, and concerns.
We are committed to listening, responding respectfully, and working together to ensure the best outcomes for our tamariki.
If you have general feedback or questions about school programmes, events, or systems, please don’t hesitate to get in touch:
Start by speaking with your child’s teacher, who knows your child best.
If the matter is not resolved or you need further support, please contact the Principal, Vanessa Wallace.
For governance-related concerns, or if the Principal has already been approached and the matter remains unresolved, you may contact the Board of Trustees.
We understand that from time to time, concerns may arise. We ask that all concerns be raised through the correct channels and in a respectful manner.
To ensure issues are addressed fairly and effectively:
Speak directly with the staff member involved (usually your child’s teacher) in the first instance.
If you feel the issue hasn’t been resolved, or if it involves a wider school matter, contact the Principal.
If the concern remains unresolved after speaking with the Principal, you may submit a formal written concern to the Board of Trustees.
You can request a copy of our Concerns and Complaints Policy at the school office or via our school docs page.
Please avoid raising concerns on social media or in public forums. Respectful, direct communication helps maintain trust and a positive school culture.
